Recently Creative Matter has worked on a number of logo facelifts. In this economy where the competition is fierce, so it’s important to stand out from the rest and look professional.

Company Nurse, a company located in Scottsdale, was ready to give their company image and materials a facelift. Many of the materials they were heading out were very outdated and didn’t have a corporate brand throughout. It was decided to update the materials and incorporate a brand so all the pieces were branded to the same look. During this conversation we also discussed updating the logo. It was designed by a family member a number of years ago and it was time for an update. Like many business owners, they wanted a new, fresh look to the logo without alienating the customers who had come to have a positive association with their current logo. Here is a sample of the old logo along with the new updated version.
Is updating a logo the right thing to do?
Many entrepreneurs face this question as their companies grow and change. So how do you know if you should update your company’s logo? Many designers say a high quality logo should never need to be updated or changed because if the design is sound, it will be timeless and will never look out of date. While this may be true to some degree, there are times when an update is warranted. A number of large corporations update their logo from time to time. Recently we watched as Pepsi rolled out their new look in product, signage and advertising.
Is your Logo Looking Dated?
Almost all logos will begin to show their age with time. Certain color combinations, fonts and shapes can become obsolete and make your logo look out of style and outdated. As with Company Nurse, we made a few updating changes yet still retained the original feeling of their logo. Remember Apple Computers old logo, the rainbow of colors? And now their logo is a one color logo retaining their original shape and still recognizable.
Keeping up with the Competition
The recent economy is making for very tough competition, even on the local scene. Small business owners need to recognize the competition and be able to keep their brand strong and positive in their customers’ minds. An updated, fresh logo design can help your give your company a more professional and solid looking business. That’s important in today’s economy. With minimal updates, a logo can once again look fresh and set a positive precedent for potential clients. A new, fresh logo can improve your company image and gain more business.
